Michelle Lim Davidson appointed to the ACTF Board

New Board member Michelle Lim Davidson with Chair Helen Silver and CEO Jenny Buckland.

The Hon Tony Burke MP, Minister for the Arts, has announced the appointment of Michelle Lim Davidson to the Board of the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF).

Michelle, an experienced performer on both stage and screen, is no stranger to children’s television, having spent a decade as a host of Play School.

Announcing her appointment on stage at the ACTF’s Parliament House Showcase this week, the Minister called Michelle “one of our great Australian actors and children’s storytellers”.

“Michelle will bring extraordinary talent and a sharp intellect to this Board," Mr Burke says. “I’m thrilled she’s agreed to bring her expert knowledge and valuable insights to the Australian Children’s Television Foundation.”

Michelle says: “I’m honoured to have the opportunity to join the Board of the ACTF. My unwavering passion for children's television fuels my dedication to this remarkable industry.

“I firmly believe that the culture that endures is the one that resonates within our minds. Ensuring that our younger audiences encounter their genuine reflections on our screens is of utmost significance. By doing so, our collective efforts not only shape their perspectives and aspirations but also empower them to embrace their authentic selves.

“With great enthusiasm, I eagerly anticipate making meaningful contributions and upholding the outstanding work of the ACTF.”

The Chair of the ACTF Board, Helen Silver says: “We are thrilled to welcome Michelle Lim Davidson to the ACTF Board. Michelle brings a wealth of experience and knowledge as a performer and worker in the screen industry to share with the Board. She is also a familiar and beloved figure to the families who have watched her on Play School over the past 10 years, so I have no doubt she will also be a fantastic advocate for Australian children’s content.”

Welcome to the ACTF family, Michelle!
